Training is the use of systematic and planned instruction activities to create learning. Also, it is a highly useful tool that helps to their employees to do their job effectively and efficiently.

The work requires skills that are best developed by formal instruction

Techniques

Instruction

  • Trainer must have a plan for presenting the subject matter and using appropriate teaching methods. So they can easily get idea about.
  • Presentation should consist of a combination of telling and showing.
  • Explanations should be simple and understandable.
  • Practice consists of the learner imitating the instructor and then constantly repeating the operation under guidance.
  • Follow up continues during the training period for all the time required by the learner to reach a level of performance equal to that of the normal experienced worker in terms of quality, speed and attention to safety.

Lecture

The effectiveness of the lecture depends on the ability of the speaker to present material with the judicious use of visual aids. It should not be longer than 30 or 40 minutes. Also, should not add more information. It can lead to optimal learning. This is the most commonly used method for training techniques.

Discussion

The objectives are,

  • Get the audience to participate actively in learning
  • Give people an opportunity of learning from the experience of others
  • Help people to gain understanding of other points of view
  • Develop powers of self expression

The following techniques can be used to get active participation. So trainers can check the trainee’s attention level to the discussion.

Case Study

Basically used for managers and team leaders. This should aim to promote inquiry, the exchange of ideas, and the analysis of experience so that the trainees can discover underlying principles.

So, trainers have to work hard to define the learning points that must come out of each case. It effectively boosts learner motivation. This method comes at a lower cost.

Role – Playing

The participants act out a situation by assuming the roles of the characters involved. This is used to give managers, team leaders, or sales representatives. As a result, It develops interactive skills and gives insight into how people behave and feel.

Group Exercises

This has a big and important goal. Here, the trainees examine problems and develop solutions for them as a group. The problem may be a case study. This group study aims to practice group work. On the other hand, this can be used as a part of a team-building program and to develop interactive skills.

Job Rotation

This can do a lot when it comes to employee motivation and commitment. From that, they can do self-learning. But this method required a lot of time and room for error. Also with the right instructions they can learn in a shorter time period.
